With my experiences in substance abuse and values I am able to share techniques that will allow the clients I serve reach their goals. I use my training in CBT, behavior modification, person-centered, trauma focused, and play therapy in combination with 4 guiding principles to help you in the healing process which include value of choice, value of communication, values of service, and value of structure. Encouraging those going through the healing process to take control of their lives while listening, counseling, and guiding you to take the vital steps in healing. My primary area of clinical interest is working with adults who have experienced abuse in childhood (sexual, verbal, emotional, or neglect).  She also works with individuals in the following areas: grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, codependency, transitions in life, divorce recovery, women’s issues, internal conflict.

Individual, Couples and Group Therapy, Consultation and Psychotherapy for those who have had losses and are suffering from the pain of grief and loss, including chronic illness and life changes. Depression, Anxiety, Stress, and feeling helpless and hopeless are emotional reactions that can overwhelm a person. Over 25 years of experience helping people face troubles and cope. Treatment is personalized for each client, with non-judgmental acceptance, validation and support. Using a variety of therapeutic techniques, people will find individual strength, self-awareness and transformation, and move through their darkest times. A caring and comfortable manner will allow clients to be themselves and become better and stronger.

Coping with the demands and decisions of grieving can be daunting and exhausting. Normal everyday tasks seem too hard and you don’t know how you will get through the day or sometimes even the next moment. The emotions come out of nowhere! 

Your physical health is threatened – knots in your stomach, headaches, etc. And you don’t know when you will cry unexpectedly, the waves of emotion coming over you from out of the blue.Everyone is going about life like nothing happened and you feel absolutely devastated. You feel on shaky ground; like you can’t get your feet under you. It seems like your world has been knocked off its axis and yet it seems like the rest of the world is just operating as is.  You feel vulnerable and scared. 

You feel like others just don’t get it; they don’t understand. 

Some day those tears will turn to smiles. You will be able to talk about the loss without choking up and maybe even help someone else who will go through what you are going through now.
