Teen Survivor After Suicide support group
The Didi Hirsch Suicide Prevention Center offers a Survivors After Suicide (SAS) Teen Support Group for teens living in Los Angeles County, ages 13 to 17, who have experienced the death of a loved one or friend by suicide and are grieving the suicide loss. Groups meet once a week for 8-weeks for 90 minutes per week. Participants interact with other teens, engage in creative coping skills, and receive emotional and therapeutic support from trained clinicians. Listed below are some of the themes participants work on:
- Exploring shared experiences
- Managing stress
- Coping with grief and change
- Interactive activities
