Over the past 20 years I have been honored to provide hope and healing while witnessing the strength and resilience of so many incredible people. I specialize in grief, trauma, and vicarious/secondary trauma. Starting with the strengths and wisdom you already possess, I work in partnership with you so that you can gain support, learn new skills and utilize practical strategies to cope with life’s difficult challenges. With all clients I work to combine the art of a genuine and warm therapeutic relationship with the use of time-tested approaches in order to assist clients to achieve a higher quality of life .

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and run a private practice in Salt Lake City, Utah. I work primarily with adults who have experienced grief and loss, and need help with working toward a path of healing.  I also work with couples and families as it relates to the process of the loss.

I work with adults, ages 20-65+ years. Many of my clients face the challenge of developing healthy relationships, find meaning and hope during this COVID era. Most of my clients struggle with managing symptoms of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, grief and trauma. I encourage my clients to think of our therapy sessions as a partnership. I encourage each client to express their concerns in an accepting, non-judgmental and safe environment. I offer tools to help resolve barriers to a meaningful life.

I have helped men & women in community mental-health services, inpatient and outpatient hospital environments and private practice. I am trained in EMDR, CBT, ACT, Solution focused brief therapy, and biblio-poetry therapy. I incorporate art therapy, biblio-poetry therapy, journaling and eco-psychology to help clients identify what keeps them stuck in self-defeating thoughts and behaviors which often prevent them from living their best life as they define it. I find it a privilege to work with clients who are willing to take the risk to share their concerns, emotionally heal and grow into the person they long to be. Clients who work with me like my down-to-earth approach, compassion and sense of humor.

I believe that everyone has the potential for change. I have witnessed powerful healing and growth in my clients over the course of working together. I believe being a therapist is a gift, a vocation, instead of a “job.” I feel privileged to help everyone who asks for help in working through feelings and beliefs that keep them stuck in an unfulfilling life. I believe therapy should be a safe space that always remains confidential. Even though what we talk about is important, I know that the therapeutic relationship, itself, is naturally healing.
