How I Help:
I provide 1-on-1 support for individuals who are struggling to move forward with their grief and can benefit from a supportive presence who has an intimate experience with loss. Whether you’ve lost someone recently or have been carrying a loss for years, I offer a space where you don’t have to explain yourself, minimize your pain, or bear the weight of expectations.
I always offer a free 30. min discovery call which you can book here: Free Discovery Call
Regardless of whether you decide to work with me, during our call I will provide you a space to share your story, honest support, and helpful resources.
Reasons that we may be a good fit to work together:
• You are struggling to find your footing and move forward with loss
• There is not anyone with whom you can be honest with your grief
• Grief is affecting multiple areas of your life, disrupting your health and wellbeing
• You are curious about developing a mindfulness practice to support your grief
• Are looking for practical ways to engage with the waves of grief when they show up
Types of loss I help with:
While I have worked with all types of loss I have particular experience working with the loss of parents, grandparents, siblings, Aunt/Uncle, adult children, and pets. If I feel like your unique situation would be a better fit with someone else I will offer referrals during the free discovery call.
About Me:
Since the death of my father at age 6, grief has been a quiet companion my whole life; shaping how I developed as a person, how I connected with others, and eventually, how I found my way to this work.
My family had no education or understanding of grief and we suffered greatly as a result. My mother, sister and I would all stumble onward, grieving the same loss but each struggling in our own ways to move forward with the unseen force of loss impacting different aspects of our lives.
Challenges in my teens and early 20’s led me to discover mindfulness and meditation; practices that would change the way I relate to life, heal wounds I was unaware of, and reacquaint me with my grief in an entirely new way. It has been through my mindfulness practice, the support of compassionate teachers and peers, and a desire to help other children and families struggling like we did, that I created Grief Support.
I’ve spent nearly a decade as a health coach, have facilitated grief support groups for over 5 years, helped lead grief education trainings and volunteer in hospice care. I bring all of that, and all of my own lived experience, into this work. I know what it is like to carry loss for a long time, and my hope is that my words, my work, and Grief Support remind you that you don’t have to carry yours alone.
My Philosophy: Embracing Grief With Mindfulness:
Mindfulness has the power to alleviate and transform the suffering we feel after experiencing loss.
To be deeply present and compassionately attentive to the moment right in front of us is the essence of mindfulness.
In this way, bringing mindfulness to our grief, is another way of being fully present with our person. This compassionate awareness helps soften our suffering, strengthen our relationship to our loved ones, and lead us to a new understanding of living.
I created grief support because mindfulness of our grief has the power to transform not only our lives as bereaved, but as a society and world that still has not reconciled its dysfunctional relationship with death, loss and love.
