Services Offered

Arlene (Ari) Istar Lev LCSW-R, CASAC, CSTS is a Social Worker, Family therapist, and Certified Grief Educator.
She has nearly 35 year of experience working with diverse populations, with special training working with LGBTQ individuals and their families. She is especially interested in providing support for families who have lost children, as well as those living with grief related to raising children with mental health challenges.
In addition to providing clinical and support work for grievers, Ms. Lev offers supervision, consultation, and mentorship for social workers, and other mental health providers. She is an approved Mentor with the GEI (Global Education Initiative) for applicants seeking WPATH Certification, a Certified Sex Therapy Supervisor through ASSECT, and an approved AAMFT Supervisor.  She is also a Credentialed Alcoholism  and Substance Abuse Counselor and Supervisor.
Ms. Lev is a part-time lecturer at the University at Albany, School of Social Welfare and the Founder and Clinical Director of Choices Counseling & Consulting and TIGRIS: The Training Institute for Gender, Relationships, Identity, and Sexuality in Albany, New York. She serves on the Board of Rainbow Access Initiative.
