GRIEF CERTIFIED COUNSELOR
How to Find the Right Grief Certified Support
We suggest you start with a phone call. Let them know you found them through grief.com.
Ask them about their style.
Tell them briefly about you.
They may or you may ask to start with an initial meeting. In person is the best way to assess if you are a match.
Make sure you discuss fees, before you begin, so there is clarity.

You wake up each day and it hits you again. You’ve entered a new reality: one you would do anything to escape. You’ve lost something or someone that made life make sense. Maybe you’ve experienced a difficult break-up. Lost a dream job. Maybe you’re struggling with your health. Or maybe someone you love has died. Either way, you don’t know where to go from here. The things that usually help aren’t available due to the pandemic. It doesn’t feel like the people in your life to whom you turn for support understand what you’re going through. Or you worry they have too much going on in their own lives.
I can help you learn to manage the overwhelming emotions coming at you each day. I’ll be there with you to unpack your grief, in the many ways it will show up. I’ll help you learn healthy ways to cope and care for yourself during grief, and together, we’ll explore what your new life, the life with grief, will look like.
Reaching out for help is hard and overwhelming. I offer a free, 15-minute consultation so we can get to know one another. I respond to emails and calls promptly (within one business day or less). Even if I’m not the best fit for you, I’ll do whatever I can to help you find the right counselor. You made it this far in your search for support: don’t give up.

Adults I work with often find they are experts in taking care of everyone around them but feel uncertain how to take care of themselves. They may be “people pleasers” and know, in great detail, what others may need and how to fix things, but struggle to know what they themselves need, how they feel or how to address their own problems. They may have had traumatic or adverse experiences that impact the way they react and cope in many situations. This often leads to feelings of anger, resentment, exhaustion and neglect of their own needs, with an increase in anxiety, depression, self-harming thoughts or grief taking over.
If this sounds familiar to you and you are finding yourself more depleted, unsupported and realizing its time for a change, but you’re not sure where to begin, together we can help you to begin building healthy boundaries, identify coping skills and make improvements in relationships, while finding the balance of your own wellbeing on the path to healing.
