Beth provides individual, couples and family therapy for persons who are or have experienced the loss of a loved one through death. She has experience working in several capacities including children’s grief camps, creating and running grief and loss groups for adults, and also held the position of bereavement coordinator for a hospice for over three years. Beth offers and gives a warm and compassionate space for mourning and bereavement. She supports and holds space for those painful moments that can feel overwhelming, while also giving and offering guidance through the grieving process.

I have a master’s dress in Social Work with a focus on gerontology and am a licensed clinical social worker.  I also am a certified grief educator. I do strengths-based and cognitive behavioral counseling.  I will assist you in such areas as decision making, anxiety, depression, grief and loss. I do strengths-based and cognitive behavioral counseling and grief and loss support.  I specialize in work with individuals who have experienced trauma, and who have had late life transitions.  I often incorporate mindfulness practices during my sessions.

I presently see patients in person and virtually.  I am paneled with many health insurances, including Medicare.

Hilary believes in the mind-body connection and the importance of taking a comprehensive approach to address the overall well-being of clients. Areas of expertise include grief, anxiety and depression disorders, adjustment issues, Lyme disease, and the role of nutrition in psychological wellness. Hilary possesses a broad understanding of mental health issues and recognizes the importance of providing compassionate care. She is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for clients to share, grieve, explore, heal, and grow. Hilary describes being present for the deaths of her paternal grandfather and grandmother as an honor and a privilege. She is intimately familiar with grief having lost her mother to cancer, and her cousin and uncle who died by suicide. When she is not working in her own private nutrition practice or counseling clients, Hilary teaches indoor cycling at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center in Leesburg, VA, where she has been a fitness instructor since 2007.
