Hilary possesses a broad understanding of mental health issues and recognizes the importance of providing compassionate care. Hilary describes being present for the deaths of her paternal grandfather and grandmother as an honor and a privilege. She is intimately familiar with grief having lost her mother to cancer, and her cousin and uncle who died by suicide. When she is not working in her own private nutrition practice or counseling clients, Hilary teaches indoor cycling at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center in Leesburg, VA, where she has been a fitness instructor since 2007.

I have a master’s dress in Social Work with a focus on gerontology and am a licensed clinical social worker. I also am a certified grief educator. I do strengths-based and cognitive behavioral counseling. I will assist you in such areas as decision making, anxiety, depression, grief and loss. I do strengths-based and cognitive behavioral counseling and grief and loss support. I specialize in work with individuals who have experienced trauma, and who have had late life transitions. I often incorporate mindfulness practices during my sessions.
