My specialty is Loss & Grief. I have published several articles on the topic and co-authored (with Lynn Shiner) two books: “Grief: The Event, The Work, The Forever” & “Drew & the Grief Thief.” I have been an invited speaker at local, state, and national conferences and trainings.
My Approach: I believe that when grievers tell their stories, they are often struggling to make sense of the event. Grievers, telling and retelling their stories, are an integral part of the grieving process. I developed an approach for how we look at the journey of grief that removed the stages, expectations, time-frames, and banishes the word closure. The approach is more about weaving your loss into your life, honoring your journey instead of treating it like a problem to be solved.
