I know first-hand the vulnerability it takes to seek support and the courage it takes to make change. Together, we can navigate anxiety, trauma, grief + loss, life transitions, existential crises, and relationship difficulties. I’m here to help you develop self-awareness, nurture self-compassion, and cultivate resilience so you can realign with your true self and thrive.

I work with individuals and couples motivated to improve their relationships with themselves and others. My best-fit individual clients are often women 25+ experiencing high-functioning anxiety, the effects of complex trauma, or grief and loss. I specialize in helping clients navigate the rocky terrain of grief with tenderness and compassion.

Couples that tend to benefit most from therapy with me want to revitalize their emotional and physical connections or rebuild trust after a betrayal. I enjoy facilitating clients’ self-exploration as they reconnect with their authentic selves and rediscover the simple joys of life.

My style is warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth. You can expect me to strategically adapt my approach to meet your unique needs. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and empowering space in which you are welcome exactly as you are. Melissa is a Licensed Social Worker, a Grief educator and a NEDA proficient End of Life Doula who is offering virtual and in-person services in the areas of anticipatory grief, End-of-Life Care for patients and their families as well as bereavement support after the loss of a loved one.  She is also a bereaved wife who lost her spouse 5 years ago and understands the issues from both a personal and professional perspective.   Melissa is a retired School Social Worker with a Master in Social Work as well as a Special Education Teacher who worked in a Spokane area school district for 32 years until her move to be near grandsons in Indiana, 5 years ago.  She has been moderating on David Kessler’s Tender Hearts platform for a year and has volunteered with three different hospices in different roles for the past 12 years.   She continues to volunteer for Brighton Hospice and Tender Hearts.
