Hi, I’m Maura

I’m a death doula, grief educator, former hospice director, founder of Hello, Mortal, and Co-Creator of the viral personality test Death Archetypes. I understand that navigating end-of-life, grief, and loss is a profoundly personal journey. Having a compassionate companion by your side and personalized support resources can make all the difference. I received her Death Doula training from Alua Arthur’s Going With Grace program and completed my Grief Educator training with David Kessler. I was also part of the founding team that opened the Lily House, a social model hospice in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I am currently based in Denver, Colorado. However, I work with people across the US.

In addition to being a Certified Grief Educator, I have 25 years of experience in learning and development as an executive, facilitator, instructional designer, and performance improvement specialist. I am also a certified yoga teacher, a writer, avid hiker, and a lover of the outdoors.

Grief needs a dedicated time and space. We are often trying to understand how to support someone who is grieving. Or we may be grieving now ourselves. And if neither of these conditions apply today, they will someday.
