Asking for help is one of the toughest and scariest things to do. This is a journey that we take together and my role is to help guide you on that journey and be with you so that you are not alone. Together we will uncover what is at the root of your distress, explore old patterns you’re holding onto, and focus on your strengths and resiliency moving forward. I am here to support you through compassionate, non-judgmental counselling to guide you in your healing. We all need this – to be seen, to be vulnerable, to feel safe to share ourselves in order to get the help we need in order to move forward.

Throughout our lives, we receive many messages from our families and society that influence the ways we see ourselves. I’m committed to helping you explore the beliefs that no longer serve you. I’m here to help you uncover who you really are and want to become.

We will work together to challenge some of the negative thoughts you may be having, increase your awareness to some of the behaviour patterns that may be contributing to your struggles as well as provide tools and strategies to increase resilience to feel confident, grateful and be your best self.

I offer individual counselling to adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and grief and loss.

Stefan is a psychotherapist, social worker, certified grief specialist, group facilitator, entrepreneur, content creator, husband, and pet-lover.

After spending the early part of his social service career as a youth worker supporting youth struggling with addictions, homelessness, poverty, and family breakdown, Stefan chose to further pursue a career as a psychotherapist, working primarily with adults in individual, couple’s, and group format since 2018. He co-founded Tilted Windmills Healing Centre alongside his wife, Athena Cooper, a visual artist and therapeutic arts practitioner.

Stefan has a particular interest in promoting healing in clients dealing with grief, loss and trauma, including physical or mobility issues, chronic pain, gender and sexuality issues, medical traumas, or who are navigating their way through domestic and family violence situations.

Himself a wounded healer who has personally experienced the longterm benefits of psychotherapy, Stefan is a passionate advocate for mental health and resilience.

In addition to his clinical work, Stefan is a sought-after speaker who has presented nationally on men’s mental health, male victims of domestic and sexual violence, and he is an advocate for the mental health needs of gender and sexual minorities.
