Grief is about loss, and that loss comes in many forms – in addition to loss due to death, you may experience loss of a relationship, a career, hopes and dreams, health, or stability.

There is no hierarchy in grief. Whatever type of loss you’ve experienced, your grief is real and it is as individual to you as your fingerprint. There is no blueprint for grieving, and the process is not linear; some days will be better than others. You may experience happiness and sadness at the same time or look forward with hope even as you reflect and grieve. While each person’s grief is unique, all grief shares the common need to be witnessed.

I am a certified grief educator, which means that I have completed a certificate program designed by world-renowned grief expert, David Kessler. A Certified Grief Educator is committed to providing the highest level of grief support through education, experience, and insights into the often unacknowledged rocky terrain of grief.

As a grief educator and coach, I will first and foremost bear witness to your grief. I will be your companion as we explore and discover the ways of being and doing that feel right to you. Together we will work to reconnect with your strengths, your coping strategies, and the relationships, activities and inner resources that give your life meaning. I make no assumptions about what you feel, think or want. Rather, I come to our sessions with an open mind and an ear deeply tuned to the one person who knows best how to get your life moving again: you.
