I can help your mind and body get acquainted again… or introduce them if they haven’t quite met yet. We can talk about breathing, mindfulness, yoga, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), sensorimotor therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and more. I’m currently in the process of getting certified in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), so we can talk about that too. Just so you know a bit about who you’re talking to… I pretty much always wanted to work in this area and have been particularly drawn to understanding (or trying to understand) how all of us humans work. I’ve studied a few things related to humans, and got my Masters in Counseling in 2005 and have been licensed since 2010. I’ve lived in a few different places inside and outside the United States, which gave me some additional good perspectives about people and culture. My current licenses are below – Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) & Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I’ve also got a few certifications and training’s under my belt too (i.e. Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and more)… I will say this list is going to keep growing because I love learning about new tools that you can use to feel good again (or if you never did, to get you feeling good for the first time in your life!).

I provide support to those of us who don’t always fit in and have experienced some rough times. As you know, being human is not easy and it can generate “stuff”. What “stuff” exactly? Well, the stuff I specialize in is grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and burnout. You know what this looks like for you. It’s hard to put on a “happy face” for everyone if you’re feeling tired, judged, and alone… and nothing seems to be helping. It’s time to reach out to someone that specializes in this stuff because if you’re looking here, you’re ready for a change.
So, OK… how do I work on said “stuff”? Talking is important and we’ll definitely be doing a lot of that… but it’s not everything. As you’ve likely felt, memories can get “stuck”. My approach is to help you get your mind and body back on track and in sync. There are a lot of tools (i.e. movement, mindfulness, breathing, eye moment or EMDR, tapping, thought records) that we can talk about together. Ultimately, this approach will be catered to you because nobody is the same.
