As a parent who has experienced the loss of a child to medical illness, I offer parent to parent support to others either anticipating such a loss or following the death of a child. I have offered both one to one and group support over the past nine years, offering compassionate listening, understanding, and hope that the pain of grief will evolve.
I am the author of Happy Faces Only: The Story of a Little Girl Who Lived, a memoir about my family’s journey with our daughter, hoping to help others better understand the experience of living with a child with a life-threatening illness and end of life care, and relatability for others walking a similar path. I have been sharing my family’s story for over a decade with healthcare professional and post-secondary student audiences. I am open to requests for speaking engagements on a variety of topics related to my lived experience.

Navigating our way through the addiction maze is like wandering alone through a desert with no water. It consumes us as it sucks the life right out of us—drains us of our time, our energy, our mental health, and quite possibly, our very lives. ConNEXTion.me is a program that supports you, the family members of a person struggling with addiction. Whether that person is in active addiction, in recovery or has passed. Through one-on-one peer sessions, courses, circles, or hypnotherapy, you to use your own wisdom to find peace and redefine your relationship with your loved one.

Chris is a health and wellness educator specializing in grief. She combines personal experience, knowledge, and skills she learned after the sudden and unexpected death of her adult daughter, Dana in January 2021. As an adoptee, she recognizes grief associated with members of adoption triads (adoptee, adopted parents, and birth parents).
Chris created “Nurturing Ourselves Through Grief” which focuses on how the death of a child (regardless of the age they died) affects parents, siblings, and grandparents. She recognizes how grief of this magnitude can affect all domains of our health and how we can find a path to wellness while still honoring our grief. As a grief educator, Chris:

offers support for those in grief as well as for those who want to support them;

educates others on how grief affects 8 dimensions of wellness (physical, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, financial, occupational, and environmental) and guides grievers on their journey to wellness;

believes people need support and skill development to more effectively heal places in the domains they choose to work on;

and provides supportive information such as affirmations, tips, and insights on ways to cope with and tend to grief on her Facebook and Instagram pages.
