GRIEF CERTIFIED PEER-TO-PEER
How to Find the Right Grief Certified Support
We suggest you start with a phone call. Let them know you found them through grief.com.
Ask them about their style.
Tell them briefly about you.
They may or you may ask to start with an initial meeting. In person is the best way to assess if you are a match.
Make sure you discuss fees, before you begin, so there is clarity.

You are not broken, you don’t need to be “fixed” but you probably need some support as you move through your grief journey. After my son died, I became a yoga teacher just so I could teach grief yoga because it helped me process those strong emotions that had no where to go . Words alone couldn’t express all the pain, anger, sorrow, resentment and despair.

As much as I’ve chased numerous “certifications” in thanatology, I consider the lower-case title of lifelong griever and my own losses to be the most important credential in my work as a Grief Tender.
I’m wary of so much of what passes for certifications, be that the coaching industry, where a weekend workshop somehow suffices for coaching expertise, or the old-school bereavement model, where grief has been pathologized and understood to be some one-size-fits-all equation. As Jan Richardson reminds us, “grief is particular.”
My approach to grief’s particularity is both consultative and creative. I lean in listening to your story and set an altar and a chair for your grief to make itself at home. I equip you with essentials for your grief backpack so that no matter where you find yourself on your journey, you’ll feel better prepared to meet the challenges. And together, be that individually and/or in community with other grievers, we map a way forward, so you feel seen, heard, and hallowed in your grief.

I am a Certified Grief Educator. I am committed to providing the highest level of grief support through education, experience, and insights into the often unacknowledged rocky terrain of grief.
The Grief Educators certificate program I attended was designed by world-renowned grief expert, David Kessler. I will bring his unique methodology, tools, and decades of experience to help people navigate the challenges of grief.
I am also a trained Communication’s coach with over 20 years experience coaching executives One-on-One in the power of acknowledging and listening. I also coach people on the techniques of First-Person Storytelling. This is the art of telling a true story from your life.
I offer services to people who are ready to share the story of their loved one in a safe environment. This therapeutic storytelling helps integrate the memory of the loved one back into the storyteller’s present day life.

Childhood was tough (ACE score of 7). But nothing prepared me for the loss of my daughter. April 18, 2017, I became a bereaved parent and life has never been the same. It’s a lot of work, but you can find joy and meaning and live a full life. I belong to a bereaved mom’s group and have walked along with others through this journey. When I lost my daughter, I quickly learned that people don’t know what to say or how to act. We are their worst fear. I have over 30 years experience in social services and was in shock at the things that were said. I recently completed the Grief Educator Certificate Program led by David Kessler. It was life changing. This is where I am meant to be. Do you need someone to help you understand grief, the stages, the mess and that everything you are feeling is normal?
Do you prefer in person? Virtual? Either works for me.

I became a survivor of suicide loss when my 19-year-old son died by suicide in 2015. I found great comfort and healing in attending a suicide-specific support group where I could share my pain with others that understood the loss and trauma I was experiencing. Now, I do my best to take my personal experience and the training I have received to sit with and support others on their grief journeys.
Please allow me the honor of being fully present and sitting with you as you share your love and grief with me. Allow me to create a safe place to support you in your grief, to remind you that you are not alone on this journey. I am here to help you acknowledge and encourage you to express your grief and all that you are feeling and experiencing. To be with you as you dive into your grief work, to help you find tools and resources that you can use to help you cope with your grief, and integrate your loss into your life so you can love and live fully as you carry your love and memories with you. It is my honor and privilege to support you in one-on-one sessions and/or as part of a support group.
I offer:
1 on 1 sessions in person or virtually
Grief Support Groups, specific to suicide loss.
