multiple losses ~ loss of a parent ~ loss of a sibling ~ sudden loss ~ traumatic loss ~ divorce
For most of my life I felt a calling to encourage and support others in their times of need.
In 2008, I tragically lost 9 close family members on Christmas Eve. My experience of multiple-family loss, grief, and healing transformed my life in many ways. It brought me to a place of trusting my inner wisdom and faith and believing that the love that bonded me to my loved ones who passed would actually be the love that would push me forward.
In 2021 I received my Grief Educator Certification from grief expert, David Kessler’s first GE class. It has been an honor to help and walk with people through their grief and healing journeys. My goal as a grief educator is to continue to offer the emotional support, resources, and guidance to those in search of encouragement, hope and healing through the bereavement process.
Please feel free to call or email me with any questions or if you’d like to setup a free consultation to learn more about my services. (626) 344-0559 – leticia@leticiashope.com

In-person grief retreats:
A grief retreat is a supportive space to restore hope after loss. It brings together people with a common experience, to gather in a calm and peaceful environment without the demands and distractions of daily life. While everyone’s experience in grief is different, it is helpful to connect those with a similar loss and shared experience, to work through these feelings together. To share stories, build trust, learn coping skills, and practice self-care. Many of our retreats will be centred around a specific type of loss or a certain group of people with similar challenges. Whatever loss you’re experiencing, it is not magically healed with time. There isn’t this inexplicable closure that sweeps in and neatly packages up this devastating loss for you. Grief needs attention, it needs to be experienced, witnessed, and shared. Surviving (and even thriving) in grief takes time, yes, but also work, energy, commitment, determination, strength, and help from others. The path through grief is just that: through. Not over or around, but through. That’s what we’re here for: to see you through.

Navigating our way through the addiction maze is like wandering alone through a desert with no water. It consumes us as it sucks the life right out of us—drains us of our time, our energy, our mental health, and quite possibly, our very lives. Even if we’re not the person with the addiction…an addiction can kill us.
Restoring our lives will come when we find the courage to face and identify our pain. Yes, the same pain that is tearing our hearts to pieces.
Each one of us has a choice: live our lives in anger and bitterness or simply, trust ourselves enough that we’ll guide our way through the maze.
ConNEXTion.me is a program that supports you, the family members of a person struggling with addiction. Whether that person is in active addiction, in recovery or has passed. Through one-on-one peer sessions, courses, circles, or hypnotherapy, you to use your own wisdom to find peace and redefine your relationship with your loved one.

As much as I’ve chased numerous “certifications” in thanatology, I consider the lower-case title of lifelong griever and my own losses to be the most important credential in my work as a Grief Tender.
I’m wary of so much of what passes for certifications, be that the coaching industry, where a weekend workshop somehow suffices for coaching expertise, or the old-school bereavement model, where grief has been pathologized and understood to be some one-size-fits-all equation. As Jan Richardson reminds us, “grief is particular.”
My approach to grief’s particularity is both consultative and creative. I lean in listening to your story and set an altar and a chair for your grief to make itself at home. I equip you with essentials for your grief backpack so that no matter where you find yourself on your journey, you’ll feel better prepared to meet the challenges. And together, be that individually and/or in community with other grievers, we map a way forward, so you feel seen, heard, and hallowed in your grief.
